Forum Kajian Pembangunan in the second half of 2017

Throughout July – December 2017, the FKP held 19 presentations (compared to 18 events in the second half of 2016), making the total number of events to 42 in 2017 (compared with 39 total events 2016). There were 900 recorded participants, 51% of which were male (compared to 770 people in the same period in 2016, 42% of which were female). Below is the make up of attendants in the two periods. Note that there has been a change in the categories of institutions, where in 2017, a new category of ‘Commercial/business firms’ has been added (in previous years, included in the ‘Others’ category).

The FKP was instrumental in staging many important seminars during this period, including the BIES Economic Dialogue and Forums in December (hosted by CEDS Universitas Padjadjaran and four other Indonesian universities in December) on the topic of non-tariff measures in Indonesia. Other presentations covered the following topics (ordered below based on the number of attendees):

  • Corruption, governance and inequality in Indonesia (hosted by SMERU Research Institute)
  • Merancang pengawasan UU Desa (designing monitoring of the Village Law, also hosted by SMERU Research Institute)
  • The impact of local spending (hosted by Universitas Sriwijaya in Palembang)
  • Gowth-Indonesia inequality nexus in Indonesia (hosted by Badan Kebjiakan Fiskal)
  • The economics of relationships and family life (hosted by LPEM FEB UI)

In 2018, FKP plans to undertake another roadshow in Aceh (Universitas Syiah Kuala), Makassar (Universitas Hasanuddin) and Jember (Universitas Jember). Monthly hosts this year are as follows:
