The event was organised by Professor Bernadette Robiani (Sriwijaya University), and chaired by Dr Isnurhadi (Sriwijaya University). Professor Didik Susetyo (Sriwijaya University) and Dr Christopher Manning (Indonesia Project) offered comments ahead of questions from the floor.

A common aspect in Professor Didik’s comments and the questions from the floor related to the implications of the end of the China-related global resources boom for the economy of South Sumatra. Questions were raised about the possibilities to diversify the local economy away from dependence on primary resources.
