[ISG] Economic consolidation, on-going reforms and labour market change

Bulletin of Indonesian Economic Studies (BIES)

On 25 January 2017, Adjunct Associate Professor Chris Manning (The Australian National University and Gadjah Mada University) and Sarah Dong (The Australian National University) presented their early findings of Survey of recent developments: family matters for the Bulletin of Indonesian Economic Studies (BIES). The presentation was attended by academics, students, and professionals of 37 people and of which 6 people were female.

The presentation discussed Indonesia’s labor policies and the market response. The speakers also discussed the challenges faced by the labor market from domestic and international sectors, particularly towards increasing productivity and creating more jobs. The development in the labor market is supported by the stable macroeconomic condition of which was driven mainly by fiscal consolidation.
