Polls open for Papua New Guinea’s National Election on 23 June and close 6 July 2012 (as per the variation notice posted on Outrigger on 10 April 2012). For more information about the elections, including the use of Limited Preferential Voting (LPV, see image to left) in 2012, visit the PNG Electoral Commission website. The election is being covered by the major print media in PNG (i.e. The Post Courier and The National) and is also covered on various PNG blog sites (e.g. PNGblogs.com, Masalai blog, the Namarong Report, etc.) and on the #PNG Twitter hashtag. Several political parties also have websites for their 2012 campaigns: the PNG Party, the United Resources Party and the People’s National Congress.
