Ian Easton, at the Project 2049 Institute, has published “The Great Game: China’s Evolving ASAT Weapons Programs and Their Implications for Future US Strategy,” no date, in which he analyzes the PLA’s programs, including their first successful ASAT test that destroyed a Chinese weather satellite in January 2007.  He assesses the US vulnerability and possible responses.

The weaponization of space could lead to an immensely expensive and strategically dangerous situation for the world.  President Obama has the opportunity now to conclude new international agreements, especially with China and Russia, to avoid such a perilous future.
