Highly skilled migration is the fastest growing component of migration worldwide, and especially towards OECD countries. Scientists and engineers contribute to it and to innovation in destination countries, especially the US. Current research focuses on whether other destination countries also benefit from these mobility trends, and whether these leave origin countries either better or worse off.
