There has been a wide, ongoing coverage in Indonesian media recently on the hiking rice prices, raids on storages, as well as debates on the accuracy of data on rice. In this seminar I will discuss why Indonesia’s rice policy is in fact anti-poor and why farmers protection programs are in general not effective.
