Technological development and deployment is increasing in pace as the tools and techniques become more widely accessible. Along with the potential to increase quality of life, these capabilities can also threaten personal and national security when utilised by criminal groups, terrorists and authoritarian states. Activities from the mundane, such as household finances, to the globally significant, such as national democratic processes, are vulnerable to hostile cyber actors.
