This paper investigates the potential role of an Indonesian state ideology indoctrination course during the period 1978–1998 on the long-run development of individuals’ social capital, including trust and civic engagement. I exploit a fuzzy regression discontinuity design focused on the effect of the termination of the program in 1998.
