Public Lecture

Mark Partridge, Professor and the Swank Chair in Rural-Urban Policy at the Department of Agricultural, Environmental, and Development Economics, Ohio State University

Lecture Theatre 1, Hedley Bull Centre (130), corner of Garran Road and Liversidge Street, ANU

Friday, 7 December, 2018 - 11:15 to 12:45

The ‘natural resource curse’ is a common issue in economic development for resource-rich countries and regions. The growth of an energy (resource) dependent economy is often unsustainable because of the volatility of energy (resource) prices, the cyclical employment growth in the energy (resource) sector, and the temporal nature of energy (resource) development.
