ANZMapS, the Australian and New Zealand Map Society Inc., promotes maps, cartography and GIS. The 44th annual conference will be in September 2016 - Encircled by sea: mapping coastal communities of Australia and New Zealand.
We create high quality maps, diagrams and interactive products; we undertake data analysis in geographic information systems (GIS); and we maintain valuable resources: GIS data for use in mapping and analysis, a hardcopy and digital map collection focusing on Asia and the Pacific, and a collection of world and country-specific atlases.
Our work supports education, research and outreach activities in the ANU College of Asia and the Pacific (CAP) and the wider ANU community. Our maps and diagrams appear in academic books and journals, HDR students’ theses, on websites and in talks or lectures. We create engaging, interactive products for use online and (with our colleagues in the Digital Learning Project (DLP) team) in CAP courses.
Our services are available to all ANU academic and professional staff and HDR students: please request work via our online request form. For a detailed description of the request, approval and work process please see slides. As resources allow we are also available for non-ANU commissions: enquiries may be made via email to firstname.lastname@example.org. Learn more from our brochure (PDF, 1.9MB).
