Multimedia Services
The vision of the Multimedia Services team is to source, create, store and disseminate digital material to support and enhance the College's research, education and outreach activities.
Following the 2011 College academic services review, the Digital Design Group sits within the Multimedia Services framework and is given a broader remit for supporting visualisation in the production of education, research and outreach resources, through the use of maps (‘cartographic services’), diagrams, data visualisation, public presentation templates and resources, and other relevant materials.
From 2012, non-online cartographic services will be provided to academic staff and PhD students in the College who meet the priority requirements outlined below, until the provision of cartographic services is reviewed as part of the broader University review of administration and support services in the College which is expected to be completed by 31 July 2012. This review process will then determine the future scope and scale of cartographic service provision at the College level.

From May 2012, cartographic services within the CAP Multimedia Services team will be limited to

- a book that has been accepted for publication,

- the delivery of a Wattle site or online education initiative.
As part of the cartographic job request process, the relevant School Director must certify that the map or maps requested by an academic staff member are for one of these purposes.
(b) PhD students
PhD students enrolled in CAP (normally in their final year) who can demonstrate that a map or maps is essential for the production and evaluation of their thesis - as part of the cartographic job request process, the relevant School Director must certify that the map or maps requested by the PhD student are essential for this purpose.
Cartographic services will no longer be available for any other purpose, or for College visitors, or for academic staff or students outside the College.
