Former Miss Universe Natalie Glebova has announced that she now considers Thailand home.
It may be somthing to do with the fact that she was crowned Miss Universe in Bangkok in May 2005. It may also be a result of her clear love for the Thai King (she is regularly photographed with yellow shirt and “We Love the King” wristband; and she signed the visitor’s book during the King’s recent stay in hospital). And the good news is that she can now earn a living wage in Thailand as a “brand ambassador” for Singha! She claims to have taught contestants at this years’ Miss Universe pageant how to wai. Perhaps next year she will be able to pass on some tips about Thai drinking style!

Please note: New Mandala encourages vigorous debate. However, for the moment we will only be publishing high-quality comments that make original contributions to discussion. There will, of course, still be space for pithy, humorous, eccentric and cheeky input. Short and sweet will usually trump long and involved. Repetitive ranting, unimaginative point-scoring and idle abuse will not be entertained. Comments which carry a real name are also more likely to be approved. Thank you for your ongoing interest and contributions.
