Discussions about the drafting of Thailand’s new constitution have a tendency to revert to the tired claim that the fault of the system lies with the voters who elected Thaksin. Consider this statement from today’s Bangkok Post (bought to my attention by Nganadeeleg):

Backdown on the bombings

The Thai junta appears to be backing down on its early unsupported claims that linked Thaksin supporters to the bombings. Even the most ardent supporters of the new regime must be starting to scratch their heads about the increasingly bizarre statements being issued.
