Asia Catalyst has organised a roundtable discussion on the topic “Burma: Where next?” to be held at New York University on 15 October 2007. There is a great line-up of speakers and, if you are in the vicinity, it does look like it will be well worth attending. All the details are available here. As always, if any New Mandala readers go along and feel inclined to write a report about the event then please get in contact with me. Many of us who can’t attend will, obviously, be very interested in what is said at this session.

Please note: New Mandala encourages vigorous debate. However, for the moment we will only be publishing high-quality comments that make original contributions to discussion. There will, of course, still be space for pithy, humorous, eccentric and cheeky input. Short and sweet will usually trump long and involved. Repetitive ranting, unimaginative point-scoring and idle abuse will not be entertained. Comments which carry a real name are also more likely to be approved. Thank you for your ongoing interest and contributions.
