Uncle, is that a gun in your pocket or did you just sell your vote?

A breaking story from the Bangkok Post:

Candidates in next month’s fiercely contested Thai election have been offering Viagra in exchange for votes, it was alleged Friday. Elderly male voters are being wooed with the little blue pill used to treat sexual dysfunction at social functions, claimed Sayan Nopcha, a campaigner for the People Power Party (PPP) in Pathum Thani, near Bangkok. “A politician is giving out Viagra to gain popularity and votes. I think this is a very bad method of vote buying,” Sayan told the Bangkok Post. He showed journalists two tablets as “proof” of his allegations and warned that cheap Viagra substitutes could be very damaging to the health of voters.

Any other reports on the activities of local members would be welcome!

With so many dinosaurs, literally dozens of dirty old men running for office, it is going to be very difficult pinning the genius behind this vote getting gimmick! If this was Samak’s idea, he will definitely get my vote . . . in exchange for the blue pill of course!

But in this forum, in my personal opinion, the one who needs the blue pills the most (with so much repressed hostility demanding release) is Republican! Republican you really need to get laid.

    “…sexual dysfunction at social functions…”

If this went to trial, this might be some of the testimony:

“No, they misunderstood what I said to them” the defendant will testify. “I did not say the Viagra was for their support in the upcoming ELECTION . . .”

Of course, this assumes that the communication occurred in English, which was probably not the case…

Another question is whether the Viagra doses bought the vote of the spouse as part of the package?

There will, of course, still be space for pithy, humorous, eccentric and cheeky input. Short and sweet will usually trump long and involved.
