Thumbs up for the Moustache Brothers

April 16th, 2008 by Nicholas Farrelly · Add a Comment

A New Mandala reader has recently returned from a visit to Mandalay which included a stint hanging out with the Moustache Brothers comedy troupe.  During the September uprising against the military government, Par Par Lay – “Brother No. 1” – was arrested by the authorities.  I wrote about it here.  He was held for 36 days and then released.

It is great to see that the family is all back together and that the show goes on.

Please note: New Mandala encourages vigorous debate. However, for the moment we will only be publishing high-quality comments that make original contributions to discussion. There will, of course, still be space for pithy, humorous, eccentric and cheeky input. Short and sweet will usually trump long and involved. Repetitive ranting, unimaginative point-scoring and idle abuse will not be entertained. Comments which carry a real name are also more likely to be approved. Thank you for your ongoing interest and contributions.
