Minute-by-minute from Bangkok

Today New Mandala is not immediately in a position to add much to the analysis of the current standoff in central Bangkok between the PA(S)D and the Royal Thai Police.

What I can do, of course, is provide links to some of the best “live” coverage.  Bangkok Pundit leads the charge, as usual, with a characteristically well-chosen mix of news and pithy comment.  The Nation also has regular updates from the protest site.  Over at AbsolutelyBangkok, Dan is doing a good job of keeping the live content up-to-date.  He calls it “Another Bangkok D-Day”.  And Matt Crook (of Lost Boy fame) from down Phuket way has even noted that he might fly up to see what is going on.

And, finally, before I forget, The Manager website has to be seen to be believed.  Browsing some of their articles one can’t but help leave with the strangest sense that Thailand has been here before…

Please note: New Mandala encourages vigorous debate. However, for the moment we will only be publishing high-quality comments that make original contributions to discussion. There will, of course, still be space for pithy, humorous, eccentric and cheeky input. Short and sweet will usually trump long and involved. Repetitive ranting, unimaginative point-scoring and idle abuse will not be entertained. Comments which carry a real name are also more likely to be approved. Thank you for your ongoing interest and contributions.
