Lao-American police officer wants Muay Thai future

July 14th, 2008 by Nicholas Farrelly · Add a Comment

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution has an informative little article about a Lao-American police officer working near Atlanta.  It explores his desire to introduce Muay Thai to his police department, and outlines his five “Rules of Combat”.  It also introduces some of the ways that he helps the large local Vietnamese and Lao populations deal with life in the United States.  Definitely worth a look.

Please note: New Mandala encourages vigorous debate. However, for the moment we will only be publishing high-quality comments that make original contributions to discussion. There will, of course, still be space for pithy, humorous, eccentric and cheeky input. Short and sweet will usually trump long and involved. Repetitive ranting, unimaginative point-scoring and idle abuse will not be entertained. Comments which carry a real name are also more likely to be approved. Thank you for your ongoing interest and contributions.
