The best English language coverage of the PAD madness in Bangkok that I have seen is provided by Absolutely Bangkok. Bangkok Pundit has some useful links to other blog coverage. And Not the Nation is brilliant as usual. But the best comment I have seen so far is from our own regular contributor Srithanonchai:
At the moment, a veritable rebellion (what the constitution calls an attempt to seize power by unconstitutional means) is going on in Bangkok. If it was the military, one would call it [a] coup d’etat…
[UPDATE: Bangkok Pundit has regular updates here.]

The politics of Bangkok had truly descended to chaos and insanity. From the ‘bloodless coup led by a General Sondhi in Sept-2006′ to today’s ‘bloodless anarchy’ being led by Bangkok’s PiedPiper Sondhi Limthongkul.
Bloody fools!

Man the ramparts!
It’s high time for an unsentimental education.
“Without their materialism and ‘instinctive worship of power’, almost the entire cast would be completely rootless.”

Please note: New Mandala encourages vigorous debate. However, for the moment we will only be publishing high-quality comments that make original contributions to discussion. There will, of course, still be space for pithy, humorous, eccentric and cheeky input. Short and sweet will usually trump long and involved. Repetitive ranting, unimaginative point-scoring and idle abuse will not be entertained. Comments which carry a real name are also more likely to be approved. Thank you for your ongoing interest and contributions.
