Looking for new challenges?
An exciting opportunity has recently opened up at New Mandala, a website run out of the Australian National University. The website managers are seeking a consultant astrologer to assist with Thailand-related political analysis and forecasting.
Interested and qualified individuals are encouraged to submit their analysis of Tuesday the 9th of the 9th’s 9-0 Constitutional Court decision. Without current in-house expertise on the relevant aspects of โหราศาสตร์ and related disciplines, New Mandala is, just to clarify, not looking for an employee or a business partner.
All applications, which should include a September/October 2008 Thailand political forecast, can be submitted here.

Well, I saw some news story the other day about people having their dna analyzed, and some health professional commented that it was a waste of money, people would do better seeing a fortune teller. I’m not hawking my expertise here, but you guys at NM first have to settle the baby’s birthday (Siam, Thailand, Sukhothai, Ratanakosin, KoToMo, 1932, 1957, 1973, 1976, 1992, 1997, 2006). As is, there are too many possible birthdays and it’s not even clear what the baby’s identity really is (”not Burmese”, “not Khmer”, “not farang” is a bit too vague). This needs to be cleared up first.

lol..!
my suggestion is that maybe the excessive implication of the number 9 is an attempt to thwart
“the murky two-centuries-old prediction, made perhaps by rama I himself, that the chakri dynasty will have only 9 kings”
(handley, TKNS, p. 443-444)
oh yeah, and let us not forget that the chakri dynasty was preceeded by a ‘usurper’ named taksin…
the plot thickens…

Please note: New Mandala encourages vigorous debate. However, for the moment we will only be publishing high-quality comments that make original contributions to discussion. There will, of course, still be space for pithy, humorous, eccentric and cheeky input. Short and sweet will usually trump long and involved. Repetitive ranting, unimaginative point-scoring and idle abuse will not be entertained. Comments which carry a real name are also more likely to be approved. Thank you for your ongoing interest and contributions.
