Wikileaks and Malaysia Today

May 29th, 2011 by Greg Lopez · Add a Comment

Raja Petra Kamaruddin of Malaysia Today has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Wikileaks founder Julian Assange to release classified materials relating to Malaysia.

It appears that Malaysia Today is now systematically releasing these documents to other internet news portals (such as Free Malaysia Today and Harakahdaily) for them to report.

There have already been startling revelations relating to one Mr. Eskay. He is the key figure in the release of a sex video-tape but he is now also tied up with discussions about the insurgency in Southern Thailand. And there is detail on how Prime Minister Najib handled the canning of a Muslim women (the Kartika case), among many others.

I, for one, look forward to many more explosive revelations at Malaysia Today.

Please note: New Mandala encourages vigorous debate. However, for the moment we will only be publishing high-quality comments that make original contributions to discussion. There will, of course, still be space for pithy, humorous, eccentric and cheeky input. Short and sweet will usually trump long and involved. Repetitive ranting, unimaginative point-scoring and idle abuse will not be entertained. Comments which carry a real name are also more likely to be approved. Thank you for your ongoing interest and contributions.
