Professor Peter Warr from the ANU College of Asia and the Pacific has taken out joint first prize in one of Australia’s premier economics journals. The award is for the best article for 2011 in the Australian Journal of Agricultural and Resource Economics.
Warr, who is based in the College’s Crawford School of Public Policy, and his co-author Arief Anshory Yusuf won the prize for their article on reducing Indonesia’s deforestation-generated greenhouse gas emissions.
The authors were presented with their award at the annual conference of the Australian Agricultural and Resource Economics Society. Following on from the conference Warr was voted President-elect of the society.
