Inaugural College of Asia and the Pacific Teaching Awards

Professor Kent Anderson, Director of the Faculty of Asian Studies, today announced the winners of the inaugural College of Asia and the Pacific Teaching Awards. They are:

  • Alison Cumming Thom of the Crawford School won the Award for Contributions to Student Learning;
  • Bina D'Costa of the Faculty of Asian Studies won the Award for Programs that Enhance Learning;
  • Margaret Jolly of RSPAS won the Award for Research Supervision;
  • Chris Reus-Smit of RSPAS won the Award for Teaching Excellence; and
  • Bao Thai, Carol Hayes, and George Quinn all of the Faculty of Asian Studies were co-winners of the Award for Excellence in Language Teaching.

Professor Anderson congratulated the winners on behalf of the College, and added "The field was extremely impressive and competitive. It was encouraging to confirm the great teaching happening around the College. I look forward to even more applications next year."
