ANU-Peking University research exchange

ANU-Peking University research exchange

The Australian National University and Peking University signed an agreement on academic exchange in 1980.

This academic exchange program is administered by the College of Asia and the Pacific. The program provides an opportunity for ANU academic staff and ANU PhD students to undertake research based at Peking University. This research can be in any discipline and applications are encouraged from across ANU. Applications from ANU Masters by research students may be approved subject to availability.

Under the terms of the academic exchange agreement, Peking University will arrange accommodation and a modest daily living allowance for those who are accepted on the program.

Please note, travel costs to and from China are not covered by this program.

Research stays at Peking University are generally approved for periods of up to 6 weeks. Any period beyond 6 weeks would need to be fully-justified and would only be allocated subject to availability. No stay above 12 weeks will be approved under any circumstances.

Submitting an application does not guarantee acceptance on the program. All applications will be assessed by a selection panel comprised of CAP staff, and then further reviewed by Peking University prior to an offer being made. Given that places on the program are subject to availability, it is not advisable to finalise travel arrangements until acceptance is confirmed.

Application deadlines are as follows yearly:

  • 15 February (for stays from approx. June)
  • 30 July (for stays from approx. November)

Please complete the application form and send to the Strategic Partnerships Office via email.

For queries regarding the program, please contact the Strategic Partnerships Office.
