The late Reverend Dr Geoffrey Lindsay Lockley, Principal of Cromwell College at the University of Queensland, was the foremost historian of Congregationalism in Australia and his special interest was the work and influence of the early missionaries of the London Missionary Society, particularly in N.S.W. He also took an active interest in the work of the L.M.S. in Papua New Guinea.
