The hospital at Nduindui on Ambae, Vanuatu, is run by the Churches of Christ Mission.

The record gives the name, sex, date of birth and parents' names of each child, with clinical details of the mother's labour.

Groves (1898-1967) carried out anthropological research among the people of Fisoa and Tatau Villages, New Ireland, in 1932-34 as a research fellow of the Australian National Research Council. Fisoa is on the New Ireland mainland while Tatau is on Tabar Island.

The Teachers Training Institute, later known as the Tangoa Training Institute, on Tangoa island was established by the Presbyterian Mission to the New Hebrides (Vanuatu) in the late 1880s and officially opened in March 1895. It was established as a training centre for young men, and later women too, from different islands in Vanuatu to learn the bible and other technical skills, with the idea that they would be trained as 'teachers' who worked for the church locally. Tangoa is a small island off the south coast of Espiritu Santo.

Kalsakau became chief of Fila Island in 1908 and held that position for many years. He was a member of one of the most notable New Hebridean families of Efate. His three sons, Graham, John and Makau are (1969) also outstanding members of the New Hebridean community.
