The Marshall Islands Journal, 1977, issues covering date range 19th April - 9th July. Written in Marshallese and published by the Micronitor News and Printing Company. It was issued concurrently to the Micronesian Independent. Three issues were published weekly from 1st September 1976 - 23rd April 1977, and then published semi-weekly from April 27th 1977. It is unclear when this journal ceased but appears to have been incorporated into the Micronesian Independent from 1979.
Some issues were not available for copying and there are frequent irregularities or omissions in numbering.

Later 1980 publications of this newspaper that were copied are titled 'The Marshall Islands Journal', which became the new name for the newspaper for the period 1980-2016. The publication was previously titled the Micronitor (1970-73), and prior to that the Marshall Islands Journal (1965-69).

The Marshall Islands Journal, vol.11, no.13-22, covering period from 17th October - 19th December 1980. During 1980, the publication changed its title from 'Micronesian Independent' to 'The Marshall Islands Journal', either with the publication of issue 12 or 13. Issue 12 was not available for copying. The publication had been the Micronesian Independent from 1974 - mid-1980, and previously titled the Micronitor (1970-73). Prior to that it was the Marshall Islands Journal (1965-69).
