The Summer Research Scholarships at the ANU provides you with an opportunity to work with leading scholars and research projects in your area of interest. Research Areas within the ANU College of Asia and the PacificThe ANU College of Asia & the Pacific is one of the world's leading centres of research on Asia and the Pacific. Its strengths lie in the breadth and depth of its research which encompasses more than a dozen disciplines in the humanities and social sciences and cover a geographical range from Polynesia in the east to Pakistan in west and from Australia in the south to Mongolia in the north. As home to over more than 200 specialists on the region, our College is a centre for Australia's intellectual engagement and scholarly dialogue with the societies, worlds of thought, economies and cultures of Asia and the Pacific. College units participating in the 2009/10 Summer Research Scholarships include the Research School of Pacific and Asian Studies and the Faculty of Asian Studies. Potential scholars are encouraged to search out a research field and potential supervisor from each area. 2009/10 Research ProjectsSpecific College research opportunities for the 2009/10 Summer Research Scholarships are already available in the following areas: Asia and Pacific HistoryAreas of focus include China, Indonesia, Japan and Thailand, though research into other countries is possible. Potential supervisors include Professor Tessa Morris Suzuki, Professor Robert Cribb, Associate Professor Peter Jackson, Dr. Chris Ballard, Dr. Ben Penny, and Professor Geremie Barmé.
