The aim of the Jamie Mackie Southeast Asia Travel Grant is to promote Australia's engagement with Southeast Asia and/or Southeast Asia's engagement with Australia. This grant is funded by the J.A.C. Mackie Memorial Endowment. The ANU College of Asia and the Pacific wishes to recognise the generous support of the University's alumni and friends which has made this grant possible.
This grant assists current students of the ANU College of Asia and Pacific to undertake research or study for which they will benefit from travel to Southeast Asia.
The value of the grant is up to $5,000 to contribute towards paying for economy return airfares to Southeast Asia and expenses related to travel.
Completion of travel must occur within the year following receipt of the award.
One per year
Applicant may be enrolled in any ANU undergraduate or graduate coursework program but must be enrolled in a course provided by the ANU College of Asia and Pacific.
Alternatively they must be enrolled in a higher degree research program within the ANU College of Asia and Pacific.

Preference will be given to applicants enrolled in programs where travel assistance is not normally provided.
