Awards and prizes
Congratulations to the outstanding teachers and administrators who were recognised in CAP’s 2011 teaching awards and the ANU Vice Chancellor's award recipients
The ANU CAP Teaching Awards were initiated in 2007 to recognise and encourage excellence in both coursework teaching and research supervision within the College of Asia and the Pacific. In 2011 the following are the awards being offered by the College:
- Award for Teaching Excellence
- Award for Excellence in Supervision
- Award for Outstanding Contribution to Student Learning
- Award for a Program that Enhances Student Learning
- Award for Excellence in Language Teaching
- Award for Excellence in Tutoring
- Wattle awards

There is $1000 in prize money associated with each award.
Award process
Nominations- Staff are nominated by students, colleagues or by self-nomination. Nominations open 30th May and close 28 September 2011. Nominate now.
Applications- Nominated staff are then invited to prepare a portfolio and apply for the award(s) they were nominated for. A workshop will be held to assist nominees with their portfolios (see important dates closer to the time). Applications close on the 7 November.
Deliberation- A CAP Committee will meet to consider the Applicants for each award and to determine the Awardees.
Notification- Applicants will be notified of the Awards outcome in late November.
ANU Vice-Chancellor's Awards for Excellence in Education
The Vice-Chancellor's Awards for Excellence in Education give recognition to ANU academic and general staff for teaching, supervision and program excellence, and for their contribution to student learning. Recipients of the College Teaching Awards will be nominated for these awards by the College.
Australian Awards for University Teaching
The Australian Awards for University Teaching are administered by the Office for Learning and Teaching (OLT). Recipients and nominees of the ANU Vice-Chancellor's Awards for Excellence in Education will be eligible to be nominated by the University for these National Awards.
