Portfolios
To provide a basis for assessment of teaching achievement, nominees are asked to provide a summary "teaching portfolio" for consideration.
The portfolio that applicants develop for the CAP Teaching Awards may be used as a starting point in developing a supporting portfolio for a Vice Chancellor's Award for Excellence and/or an Australian Award for University Teaching application.
Want some tips on how to put together your portfolio?
Read the advice given at the Portfolio Workshop 2008 and see the slides presented at the Portfolio Workshop 2011.
Each portfolio for a CAP Teaching Award should contain the following:
- Coversheet (including a Portfolio Checklist)
- Written statement - This statement should be a minimum of 1-2 pages long and should address the Selection Criteria of the Teaching Award for which the nominee has been nominated. Selection Criteria can be found at:
- Curriculum Vitae - 1-2 pages only.
- ANU student evaluation summary pages * - Only the Evaluation Summary pages are recommended.
- References/Testimonials – Brief references from people familiar with your teaching and/or students that you have taught, may be included, but are not required.
- Recording of Teaching - Nominees may include a short digital recording of their teaching (a maximum of 10 minutes only).
All applications should be submitted as a PDF or Word document by email to: cap.teachingawards@anu.edu.au
Application Closing Date: 7 November
*Applicants for the Award for Excellence in Supervision do not need to include the SELT Evaluation summary pages.
