Australian National University (ANU) is one of the world's leading centres for research and teaching on Asia and the Pacific. Each year several hundred men and women enrol in Asia Pacific Studies programs at the ANU. They represent a broad spectrum of experiences, attitudes and outlooks. However, they all recognise the international importance of Asia and the Pacific, and the need to gain an understanding of the region's languages, societies, histories, politics, and economies.
