Bachelor of International Security Studies

Are you dreaming of a career with a global focus?

Enquire now to find out how the Bachelor of International Security Studies is your first step to turning this dream into a reality. This degree will prepare you for a successful career in government (including foreign affairs and trade, defence, the Australian Federal Police or secret intelligence agencies), international organisations (like the United Nations or Amnesty International), or international businesses who face global security issues (such as Boeing and BHP Billiton).

Studying this degree will develop your analytical skills and knowledge of the security challenges facing our world with particular reference to the Asia Pacific region. You’ll develop Asian language skills, have the flexibility to choose electives in other disciplines from across ANU and participate in a range of hands-on extra-curricular activities including “war games”.

Taught by internationally renowned experts at the ANU Strategic and Defence Studies Centre (SDSC) - Australia’s foremost centre for strategic and security studies – you’ll graduate with a qualification which will open doors to a truly global career.

Combine this degree with almost any other degree at ANU – including law, international relations, engineering, commerce or economics – and your specialist knowledge of Asia and the Pacific will ensure you are recognised ahead of your peers when starting your career in Australia or overseas.

Please note, this program replaces the Bachelor of Asia Pacific Security which will no longer be available from 2015.
