In this seminar, Tian Chua will share his insights into Malaysia Baharu's first 100 days, his key role in Dr Mahathir's winning GE14 campaign, and how Tian as a veteran 'reformasi' parliamentarian will help shape the new government's biggest political party. There will also be time for questions and comments from the audience.
Tian Chua was a Member of Parliament for the Batu constituency in Kuala Lumpur. He is vice-president of Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR), a governing party in the Parliament of Malaysia. He is a graduate in Philosophy from the University of New South Wales, and has a Master in Labor Studies and Employment from the International Institute of Social Studies in The Hague. A political activist since his university days, he has been arrested on numerous occasions, and was detained two years without trial under the Internal Security Act from 2001-2003.
