Abstract: It’s Plastic Free July (PFJ), a month where businesses, communities and individuals are invited to choose to refuse single-use plastics. While behavioural initiatives such as PFJ can reduce consumption of single-use plastics, there are many policy instruments that have been employed globally to address the problem. One of the most ambitious of these policies was announced last week in Western Australia, banning a wide variety of single-use plastics.
