Envisaged as a hub for national and international scholars, the new Australian Centre on China in the World (CIW) at ANU is showcased in this video through beautiful time lapse photography.
Designed by Beijing Based architect Gerald Szeto, CIW director Geremie Barme says the building, which has been in use since February, fits ‘the requirements of a research institution,’ while maintaining aesthetic and modern Chinese elements.
“It also reflects the ANU’s position in Canberra,” he says.
“The light of Canberra, the beauty of this university campus. And aspects of ANU’s engagement with China, which I should point out, go back to the 1940s.”
