The China Story Yearbook: China Dreams

The year 2019 marked a number of significant anniversaries for the People’s Republic of China, each representing different ‘Chinese dreams’. From the escalating violence in Hong Kong and the ongoing suppression of Uyghurs in Xinjiang to the deteriorating Sino-US relations and China's advances in artificial intelligence, The China Story Yearbook: China Dreams surveys the dreams, illusions, aspirations and nightmares that coexisted in 2019 in China and beyond.
In 'Campus Conundrums: Clashes and Collaborations', Jane Golley and Paul Harris and James Laurenceson write on the challenges Australian universities face — ranging from the clashes between students from Hong Kong and mainland China to the controversial research collaborations with China, and what this all means for the Chinese students who come to Australia to pursue their academic dreams.
