Malamanei newspaper was created by Soane Patita Mulikiha'amea with the late journalist Kalepo Muliava in Noumea, New Caledonia. Gerard Agopian was the photographer. The newspaper was written in French and Wallisian/Uvean languages for the Wallis and Futuna communities in New Caledonia.

Joseph Caspar was born in Bernardswiller, Alsace in France. He was ordained as a priest in 1902 and arrived in Papua in 1903 at Dilava. Incardinated in Diocese of Strasbourg.
