- Item086a - A new Church at Vurara, the first Church I have actually opened. It is quite a nice little building very picturesque. Note the sharks tail decorating the central spire, right up on top. Vurara is an island about 4 miles out from the main land, all the people there are Methodists, and there are no Chinese or whites to trouble the minds of the natives, it is a very nice place, and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves there. Some of the school boys from here are standing near the door, and our cook boy is leaning against the door post with a white lavalava on and a bandage round his foot. He always goes with us to get the meals, wash up etc. and look after the things.
