Graduate Certificate of Diplomacy

The Graduate Certificate of Diplomacy (6 months full-time, or part-time equivalent) provides you with the knowledge and skills – such as critical analysis, strategic thinking and cross-cultural communication – required to understand the diplomatic practices of the international system.

Career opportunities

The Graduate Certificate of Diplomacy is a pathway to professional advancement, equipping you with knowledge about the practical realities of international and diplomatic affairs and real-world skills to effectively represent your country or organisation at an international level.

Our program will prepare you to advance your career across the world in:

  • Diplomatic and foreign affairs
  • Government and public service
  • Journalism
  • International development and aid
  • Consultancies
  • Private and not-for-profit organisations

What you’ll learn

The Graduate Certificate of Diplomacy is a 24-unit program that develops future leaders in diplomatic practice to succeed in a changing geopolitical world.

Our students develop research and writing skills to undertake self-directed study in diplomacy and communicate findings in academic and practical contexts.

You will be taught by internationally recognised research scholars from the Coral Bell School of Asia Pacific Affairs, have the opportunity to engage with senior diplomats from Australia and elsewhere, and graduate from a world-class university.
