Graduate Certificate of Engaging the Pacific

As our world adapts to rapidly changing conditions and Australia assesses its place in Oceania, engagement with the Pacific will require a deeper understanding of the socio-political, cultural and environmental forces and their impact on the region.

Overview

Are you seeking to engage with one of the world’s most diverse regions?

The Graduate Certificate of Engaging the Pacific offers students an opportunity to explore the island region’s diverse histories, cultures, arts, languages, politics, migration and environmental issues. The program uses critical approaches, from across multiple disciplines and perspectives, which are inclusive and supportive of indigenous Pacific voices, knowledge and methods. Students hoping to work in the region — or in any agency or organisation engaged with Pacific policy, teaching, collections and communities in the islands and diaspora — will receive a strong grounding in thinking with and for Oceania.
