Note

Frederick James Paton correspondence to Rev. and Mrs. J. S. Jaffray., from 28 Jan 1936 to 15 Aug 1941. Lengthy series of letters often quite long, with great deal of detail on day to day activities. The Jaffrays seem to have spent part of this time in New Hebrides; Fred’s letter to them dated 2 Oct 1939 refers to their return there, perhaps to South-West Bay. (In this set of letters, there is also one letter from Fred to a Mrs. Wadell, dated 26 Nov 1938). There is also a manila envelope labeled Rev F J Paton Letters and Rev. J.S. & Mrs. Jaffray at an address in Victoria, which contains a ms. list of personal effects and what appears to be a fragment of a ts. letter (no date, no signature)- referring to ill health of Mrs. Jaffray and her subsequent visit to Melbourne.
