Includes (1) ts. letter to Miss Gordon for the Nagambie PWMU from Fred in Pangkumu, (17 May 1907), 4p.; (2) apparently humorous ms. advertisement for concert and lecture on “Personal reminiscences of the New Hebrides” in the Natimuk Mechanics Institute (Thu 17 Jan 1889) ‘THE MOON will be present by special request’, etc; (3) The Lorne Journal, 4 Youths on a Holiday Excursion to Lorne & back from Thursday 27th December 1883 to Friday 4th January 1884, 16p., together with a kind of title page, also headed The Lorne Journal, copied May (?) 1886 with the motto ‘God bless the Australian Lassies forever’ and some lines in similar vein from Robbie Burns(?) and another title page also carrying (twice) the apparently heartfelt wish ‘God bless the Australian Lassies (forever and ever Amen & Amen)’, and headed The End of the Nine Days Wonder (ms), Journal (Tue 5 Feb 1884 - Mon 4 Feb 1886) signed as correct and true in every detail by Fred J. Paton with a poem in macaronic German English (?) on the back; (4) a second ms. journal running from 4 Feb to 15 Feb1886, 42p.
