Dr Briggs (1890-196?), a doctor of science, began his career as a zoologist at the Australian Museum, Sydney, where he was employed from 1912 to 1918. His last appointment was Reader in Zoology, University of Sydney, 1945-55.
Field notebooks of two expeditions which the writer led to the Mandated Territory of New Guinea from 25 June - 12 July 1924 and from 19 December 1925 - 11 February 1926. Dr Briggs was then lecturer in Zoology at the University of Sydney.
