William Milne was the son of Peter Milne, a Presbyterian missionary on Nguna Island, Vanuatu. He was killed at Easter 1937.

Ownership and custodial history: This collection was rescued from a boat shed at Tongoa, New Hebrides (now Vanuatu) in 1964 and donated to the Hocken Library by Prof. G. S. Parsonson in 1973.
