Professor Valerie Braithwaite has worked at the ANU as a teacher, mentor, leader and world-class researcher for 40 years. She was instrumental in the creation of an inclusive community of scholars working on regulation, inclusion and justice issues at RegNet. Her work is truly interdisciplinary, path-breaking and inspirational.
Her unwavering generosity, kindness, and ongoing encouragement is a particular source of strength and inspiration to her colleagues and students. In the words Val herself uses to describe the joy of intellectual collegiality, Val is “so easy, so intensely argumentative, yet so vitally engaged and exuberant.”
In this piece published in the ANU Reporter, Professor Braithwaite reflects on her early years at the ANU.
